About BMA

Member-driven: With over 110 full and affiliate members, the association works to address all sector challenges.

Focussed work: Sustainability and product compliance are two focus areas for the association, improving green credentials and consumer safety.

Driving change: Through government lobbying, networking forums and technical workshops, we seek to influence change for better outcomes.

How BMA works

Our essential support and advocacy for members in various areas means we actively influence government policies through lobbying and advisory efforts, fostering a greater understanding of sector nuances. Ensuring effective dialogue with government departments and transparent communication of outcomes to members remains crucial.

Our technical work is pivotal for members, addressing intricate compliance issues such as adherence to water regulations. Special Interest Groups, including healthcare and commercial washroom adaptations, fuel debates and advocacy, enabling amendments to crucial bills like the Levelling Up Bill.

We disseminate pertinent government policy briefings, trends, and economic insights through internal and external channels like opinion pieces, fortnightly bulletins, and our quarterly BMA Insights publication.

In addition, our extensive event calendar includes an annual Industry Conference and the BMA Sustainability Awards, recognizing members driving positive environmental impacts.

Our overarching role will always be safeguarding consumers, promoting exceptional bathroom products, and fostering industry growth and protection.
